Welcome to our 14th Annual Texas Music Festival & Chili Cook of! If you are an “old timer”, welcome back!  If this is your first year, be assured that the veterans have paved the way and made this event what it is.  It works because of the spirit that you bring to it. The names on stage bring us together, give us a reason to gather...thank God for talented singer/songwriters who can do this.  It’s been my pleasure for the past 14 years to watch legends of this kind of music perform and mesmerize crowds and to observe new young singer/songwriters perform before the biggest crowd they've even been in from of and captivate them as well.  The real  thrill has been watching young songwriters turn into new legends right before our eyes.

Every year I try to describe what this festival is about with new words, but I keep going back to the same things I’ve written in the past.  It’s still about....laughter from a distant campfire at 3 in the morning, the best song you ever heard in your life from the guy camped right next to you, a hot bowl of chili, something cold to drink, sitting in your lawn chair listening to your favorite songwriter on stage singing your favorite song, somebody hollering “breakfast is ready” and about a thousand people showing up to eat it, that great feeling you get unloading and setting up camp...that terrible feeling you get when it’s over. After so many years everything is different  and yet  nothing has changed.  So get some new strings on whatever needs strings, write a new song, buy a new chili pot, get some extra sleep and get ready for 4 days and night of music, reuniting with old friends and making many new ones.  Enjoy....
